The Opportunity- JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Puffy is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Junior Accountant to join the Dubai team. This position offers the chance to work within a lean and highly collaborative accounting function consisting of a Senior Accountant, an Accountant L2, another Junior Accountant, and direct oversight from the Accounting Manager.

The role involves supporting day-to-day accounting operations, reconciliations, reporting activities, and financial processes across a diverse portfolio of entities. Close collaboration with stakeholders across multiple departments ensures financial records remain accurate, organized, compliant, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting accounting operations across multiple entities.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations.
• Maintaining accurate and timely general ledger records.
• Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Preparing, issuing, and monitoring invoices while tracking payment status.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Entering, reviewing, and verifying financial transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Supporting audit preparation through documentation and evidence collection.

What You’ll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of one year of practical accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Moderate to advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and data validation techniques.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting platforms such as QuickBooks Online or ZohoBooks.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with AI-powered tools, including Claude for Excel, Artifacts, and similar technologies in a professional environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Openness to learning new technologies, systems, and evolving processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of US sales tax compliance and reporting requirements.
