About the Job

The Accountant – Accounts Receivable (AR) role supports the Assistant Manager of Finance while handling daily operations within the Accounts Receivable function of the Finance Department. This position focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely invoicing, and managing payment follow-ups.


Job Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve queries raised by students and their representatives promptly and clearly.
  • Accurately record and allocate daily financial transactions in student accounts, including payments, deferments, financial holds, and document release holds.
  • Ensure all charges are correctly posted to student accounts and carry out regular reconciliations to maintain accurate and reliable records.
  • Prepare and issue invoices on time and actively follow up to ensure timely payment collection.
  • Work closely with internal departments to generate invoices and monitor their payment status.
  • Track outstanding invoices issued to customers, sponsors, and business partners, and prepare reports as required.
  • Coordinate with the scholarship office and sponsor representatives to resolve issues efficiently and without delay.
  • Support the student registration process by collaborating with finance teams and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist the Assistant Manager in preparing accounts receivable aging reports and performing financial analysis.
  • Update monthly invoice payment status reports for the Office of Alumni Affairs and the Office of Research and Grants, and communicate updates accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • At least two years of relevant experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of IFRS principles with practical application experience
  • Knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to prepare financial reports
  • Background in credit control or receivables management is considered beneficial
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail with strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, ACA, or CMA)
  • Three years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage
